Music Composition
Music is one of the most powerful tools to create emotions, set a mood and thus support your vision for a product. My job is to get to know as much as possible about this vision and particular scenes and then to condense that vision in a unique musical experience. Whether a classic orchestral piece, an electronica song, country guitars, creepy musical suspense effects, or everything thrown together in a mix. When the vision, imagination and creativity of the people involved meet, great things happen ;)

Sound Design
What’s a sideways scroller without great explosions and lasers? What’s a dungeon crawler without spooky sounds at the back of the hallway? What’s a movie scene in a dark forest without creepy wind and cracking wood in the distance? Especially in games and animation movies, where no sound exists to begin with, every crash, step and sigh has to be recorded and arranged from scratch. But where can you record a spaceship fly-by? Well…
Recording and processing sounds is what I do to make the wooden frog on the right sound like a laser cannon or a spaceship fly-by. I create moods and convincing ambiances such as a calm street on a rainy night. If a sound doesn’t exist, I use samplers, synthesizers and effects processors to create the sound of, say, a UFO’s sub-gravity engine. I can create growling monsters or the sounds of a cargo hold on Mars. Great challenges lie ahead!

Voice-over
Tell a story flatly, monotonously and at a constant speed and your audience will fall asleep. Tell the same story, but hold your breath for an instant, lower your voice at some points, raise it and speak faster on others and people will listen because it ‘sounds interesting’. You can do so much with your voice: Lower it, speak softly, yell, get close to the mic, speak with different accents, slow down, speed up. Mix and match all of the above and make your story really special.
Well, you guessed it. This is what I do in my ‘Voice-over Time’. I give voices to figures in books and I tell stories. Sometimes, I need other people’s voices. So we meet in front of a microphone and I direct them while operating the recording equipment at the same time.
