Project Highlights
Rotation is a composition for a friend’s show in which two people juggle fire cones. She wanted to have her own electronic ‘theme song’ that was timed specifically to the performance. The track ended up on the first album my s&p band partner Thomas and I released under the band name shallow & profound.
The medieval beginning sets the scene. Timpani in the foreground, a male choir later on. Of course, the music had to sound of fire cones being juggled. To translate this rotating motion in sound I searched for a swelling element that I eventually found in the form of the bass. The bass superbly supports the rotating motion of the juggled cones.
Imagine the wooshing sound of fire cones flying through the air while hearing this track. It was such a great show.
